I'm Brian Quinn. I have had an interest in art, music and photography since I was in high school. Art has been the backbone of my family. My uncle Ed Havas and Paul Havas were very well know artists. As a youngster, I dabbled in watercolor painting and other types of art, I eventually joined the US Air Force and put the art work aside but continued to take pictures. My first "real" camera was a 35mm Canon AE1 Program. I had a variety of lenses and equipment to go with it. Whether still life or action, I enjoyed nature photography the most. Nature photography is a great way to "get away" from the "grind." I set out to see the world and even entered some of my photo contests and actually won a few "prizes" for my work. Unfortunately my AE1 broke and I never replaced it and stopped my photography. Still, I was always wanting to get my hands on a camera, even the inexpensive point-and-shoot ones, and take pictures.

Fast forward to today, and I am retired from the Air Force, I am a widower and my kids are all grown on moved on. I needed a new hobby. Why not rekindle an old hobby. So I purchased a Canon EOS Rebel T3 DSLR to get started. It was a challenge to remember all those photography things I once knew. I am still learning all the amazing new digital stuff and I am having fun (I was a computer specialist in the AF). I'm still learning, still experimenting but I am having fun. And with digital photography you can experiment all you want without wasting film!!!!!

In 2018 I traded in the old EOS Rebel T3 for a EOS SL-2 and eventually upgraded to a Canon 6D Mark II . In 2017 I also took up art again, trying my hand at Acrylic painting. At first I didn’t really get it, but after taking several art classes, I began to develop the skills to create some “good” art. I use some of my photos as subject matter for my art work. A lot of my art work is “from my mind” and not any place in particular.
